Captain America is a superhero who fights for justice and freedom. He was created in 1941 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, and he first appeared in the comic book Captain America Comics #1. Captain America is a patriotic superhero who often fought the Axis powers of World War II. He is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young artist who was enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental "super-soldier serum." After joining the military to aid the United States government's efforts in World War II, Captain America was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in modern times.
